 Qualifications
Any self-advocate with at least one year’s experience as an active member of People First is eligible to be nominated.
Being an officer for People First of Nebraska is a fun and exciting position.  It also has responsibilities:
  • Officers sometimes have to be contacted between meetings. The officer MUST give the state coordinator their phone number so they can be called or texted, they can also friend the coordinator on Facebook so they can participate in group chats. Both are preferred. Their e-mail is required to send meeting notices and documents for meetings.
  • Board meetings are every three months. Officers are expected to attend ALL Board meetings, either in person or on Zoom. Officers are encouraged to attend in person whenever possible. Chapter Advisors or other support people must commit to supporting the officer with travel or assisting them to get on Zoom if needed. State People First Advisors and Coordinators will assist officers during the meetings. Special meetings are sometimes needed and we will meet on Zoom for those meetings.
Remember, the Nomination Form MUST be completed AND SIGNED BY THE CHAPTER ADVISOR AND PRESIDENT and e-mailed to   PeopleFirstNebraska@outlook.com   no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

Please contact Kellie Ellerbusch at PeopleFirstNebraska@outlook.com or by calling 402-559-4892 if you have any other questions about these offices or the process for selecting these officers.
