Be an Advocate. Be an Ally. Be a Friend. BE A SPONSOR!
|
In the past few years, we have been building our advocacy and leadership skills in the state and in our region. We our building our capacity as a go-to organization for technical assistance and advocacy directly from leading advocates with disabilities.
We were excited to contract with self-advocates to work on policy advocacy in Lincoln. We have seen more disability-positive legislation move through the Unicameral than we have in recent memory, including definite progress on finally getting an Olmstead Plan. We will continue this program to train more policy advocates and to have the consistent presence of people with disabilities in our state capitol when decisions are being made about our lives.
We have successfully co-sponsored the two first Midwest self-advocacy conferences in 2018 and 2020 that attracted over 200 self-advocates and allies and had four nationally-known keynote speakers. We are planning our third regional conference for 2023!
This year, we will produce work with our local chapters to develop events in our local communities that will strengthen grass roots self advocacy and build our local membership.
As you can see, we have very ambitious plan for our organization, not to mention our state convention in October, 2023!
We need your help to make this convention and this organization one of learning, networking, and development. We are asking for sponsorships from disability agencies and organizations like yours. We offer several levels of sponsorship :
